Common Minecraft circle sizes
Any size from 3 to 256 blocks works above, but these diameters cover most tower, room, and arena builds.

Why circles look "jagged" on small sizes
Minecraft circles are never true circles — they're pixel circles, square blocks approximating a curve. The gap between where a real circle would fall and where the nearest block actually sits is called the circle's delta. It's highlighted in amber on the diagram: a real curve would pass through that corner, but the grid can only offer the block next to it.
Delta shrinks relative to the shape as diameter grows, which is why every guide on this site recommends 15+ blocks for anything meant to read as smooth from normal viewing distance.

How to actually build a circle in Minecraft
A Minecraft circle is never a true circle — it's a pixel circle, a square-block approximation that reads as round from normal viewing distance. The generator above handles the rounding for you, but knowing why it rounds the way it does makes the build itself much faster.
Diameter vs. radius: which should you use?
Diameter is the width across the whole circle and is usually the easier number for towers, rooms, and anything you're picturing from the outside in. Radius is the distance from the center out to the edge, which is more natural when you've already placed a middle block — a fountain, an altar, or a redstone component — and are building outward from it. The generator's diameter/radius toggle exists so you never have to convert one to the other by hand.
Odd or even — does it matter?
Odd diameters give you a single center block, which is useful for a doorway, a beacon, a spiral staircase, or a roof peak. Even diameters give you a two-block center line instead, which works better for symmetrical double doors or wider builds where you don't need one exact middle point.
Reading the numbered grid
Once a circle gets past about 15 blocks wide, it's easy to lose count halfway across a row. Turning on the numbered grid labels every row and column, so you can call out "row six, columns four through eleven" instead of counting squares with your eyes. It's a small feature, but it's the difference between a clean 31-block ring and one with a single misplaced block that only shows up once you've raised the walls.
Command blocks, WorldEdit, and other mods
If you have access to command blocks or a building mod like WorldEdit or Litematica, you can place a circle with a single fill command or brush stroke instead of placing blocks by hand. This tool doesn't require any mod or command access either; it's built for anyone placing blocks manually in survival or creative mode, on singleplayer, a LAN world, or a hosted server.
A simple build order that avoids mistakes
- Decide the final outer diameter before gathering materials — changing size mid-build almost always breaks symmetry.
- Mark the center block (odd diameter) or center line (even diameter) first.
- Place the north, south, east, and west points next — they anchor the rest of the outline.
- Build one quadrant, then mirror it across the center instead of freehanding all four sides.
- Finish the full ground outline before adding any height, and check it from above first.
Common mistakes when building circles
Four independent failure points, not a sequence — any one of these on its own can throw off an otherwise clean build.
Starting from a corner instead of the center
Corner-first builds drift as they go, because small counting errors compound across the row. Mark the center block or center line first, then work outward — errors stay local instead of stacking.
Mixing up outline and filled counts
Outline block counts are for walls, rims, and towers. Filled counts are for floors, platforms, and disks. Gathering materials against the wrong number leaves you short — or with a pile of unused blocks.
Raising walls before checking the base
A base that looks fine from ground level can reveal an asymmetry the moment you fly above it. Finish the full ground outline first, inspect it from above, then start adding height.
Choosing a diameter that's too small for the job
Anything under 15 blocks reads as visibly blocky up close. That's fine for a well cap or fence post, but a "circular" room at 9 blocks wide will look more like an octagon once walls go up.

Yes. This is a standalone browser tool that never connects to your server, so it works the same on Scalacube, another host, a LAN world, or singleplayer. You place the blocks yourself using the blueprint as a guide, or paste the WorldEdit command if your server has that plugin installed.
What is a schematic, and does this generator export one? +
A schematic is a saved file format, like .schem or .litematic, that building mods use to paste a structure straight into the world. This tool currently exports a PNG image plus a copyable WorldEdit command. Direct .schem/.litematic file export is planned next.
Why do some rows in the blueprint look uneven or "jagged"? +
That's the circle's delta — the small rounding gap between a true circle and a square block grid. Every pixel circle has it, and it's most visible on small diameters. From about 15 blocks up, it reads as smooth from normal viewing distance.
